Picture above: the zero emission 100% battery driven ferry Ellen – also known as the E-ferry project. This was a Horizon 2020 project were we should demonstrate if it was possible to produce a fully electric ferry that could travel a longer distance. 22 nautical miles between each charging. Ellen has a 4,3 MW battery pack and a 4 MW shore charger.
The ferry is now in operation for Ærøfærgerne on the Søby – Fynshav route.
